Trades and presets

The base each trade starts from, made of ready modules and the trade's own words, three worked examples, and what happens when your trade is not covered yet.

Each client gets its own app. It does not start from a blank page: it starts from a preset, the base for its trade. From the first day it holds your vehicles, your jobs or your orders, with your statuses and your words. Then our agents adapt it to your company, one request at a time.

What a preset is#

A preset has three parts:

  1. The common base: sign in, accounts and rights, lists with filters and export, the journal of changes, files, email, backups, what's new notes.
  2. The trade's modules, each with its options: customers and deals, quotes and invoices, stock, jobs, planning, purchasing, several sites, and more. Each module is a ready part of the app with its own screens and rules. See Modules.
  3. The trade's own layer: the screens, rules and words that only this trade needs, kept thin on purpose.

Your app is made from the preset, then it is yours: its own code, its own process, its own database and its own address. A fix or an improvement to a module reaches your app through the next toolkit update, after your app's own checks pass. What you asked for stays in your app's own layer.

Three worked examples#

Each example below is an app on made up data: the companies, names and figures are invented. The pictures on the site are taken from these apps.

A leisure vehicle dealer#

Ardevan Loisirs sells motorhomes, campervans and caravans on two sites. Automotive is our first trade, and this app is its base: every domain is a module (customers and deals, quotes and invoices, vehicles, parts, supplier orders, work orders, planning, files, follow ups, reference lists), and the app's own layer holds only the dealer's words, statuses and its dashboard.

The home of the dealer app: its menu in six groups, the stock value, the average stock age, the vehicles over 90 days, the deals this month and the workshop load, then the stock by age and the deals signed per month.

The dealer on its dashboard: stock, deals and workshop load, computed by the app's server, per site or for both. Made up sample data.

The desk by desk tour: Leisure vehicle dealers.

A laundry#

Our example laundry has four shops. Its app follows orders and their items, payments, ironing and reminders in every shop, with a portal where its own customers follow their orders, rights per profile and the journal. The app is in French.

The home of a laundry app: its menu by area, the orders, revenue, cash collected, credit, orders ready to collect, late orders, deliveries and kilos of the last 30 days, the revenue day by day beside the order statuses.

The laundry on its dashboard: the figures of the last 30 days, computed by the app's server. Made up sample data.

The tour: Laundries.

A heating, plumbing and air conditioning firm#

Vernaise Énergies has two agencies and eight technicians. It shows the common base at work on a trade we do not cover yet. The app was created from the base, got customers, quotes and invoices, the journal and saved views in one click each from the Modules tab, then rights, agencies, the users admin, stock, jobs and planning by requests. Its own layer is thin: service contracts, the figures of its dashboard, the trade's words over the modules' words, and its menu.

The home of a heating, plumbing and air conditioning firm: its menu by area, the revenue of the month, quotes to follow up, jobs this week, service visits due and unpaid invoices, then the revenue per month and agency and the quotes signed, waiting and refused.

The heating firm with two agencies on its dashboard. Made up sample data.

The tour, with the technician's phone: Field service.

Your trade is not covered yet#

A trade with no preset starts from the generic preset: the common base and the modules most companies use (customers and their follow ups, quotes and invoices, documents). Our agents then shape it to your need, in days rather than months. Access is by invitation.

The next trade comes from our clients: once two or three companies of one trade run their own apps, what they share becomes a module and a new preset, and their apps adopt it.

What stays yours#

Whatever the preset, the app is yours: its code, including your own layer, and its data. You get the full repository on request, and you leave with it whenever you want. See Your data.
