DocsWhat an app can do

Files and email

Attachments on records, private files behind short lived links, file storage on disk or in a bucket, and the emails your app sends.

Files#

Any kind of record can hold files: a scan on an order, photos on a ticket, a contract on a client. A field holds one file or several.

  • Upload from the record's form: pick one file or several. Remove one with its button.
  • Limits per field: a maximum size (5 MB unless your app sets another) and the file types it accepts.
  • Private files. A field can be private. Its files open only through a link valid for a few minutes, made for a signed in user who is allowed to see that record.
  • Where files live: on the app's server disk, or in a storage bucket compatible with Amazon S3 (DigitalOcean Spaces, for example). The choice is per app.

Email#

Your app sends mail through an email server you or we provide (SMTP).

  • Sign in mails: the code, the password reset link, the email change link, the new device alert. English and French versions are ready. Your app can change the text of each.
  • Your own mails: an invoice, a reminder, a report. They can carry attachments, such as a PDF the app made.
  • One footer for every mail the app sends, set once.

The sender's name and address, and the app's name and address in links, are settings of your app.

Documents#

An app can make documents (an invoice, a delivery note, a report) and offer them to print or download, or attach them to a mail. Ask for the document and its layout. The agent builds it in your app.
