# App settings

> Your app's name, color, logo and language, and the live app's address and access, from the gear in the header.

The gear in the app's header opens the settings in two parts: **The app** and **Prod**.

## The app: name, color, logo, language

| setting | what it changes |
|---|---|
| **Name** | the name in the app's header, its browser tab and its emails |
| **Color** | one color. Every shade of the app's theme comes from it |
| **Logo** | an image in png, jpg, webp or svg. Without a logo, the app shows its first letter on its color |
| **Language** | the language a visitor starts in: English or Français. Each user can switch in their profile menu |

When you save, the change is saved in the app's own code, and the preview reloads by itself. It reaches the live app with the next release and deploy. A save is refused while an agent has unsaved work on that same file. Try again a moment later.

## Prod: address and access

| setting | what it changes |
|---|---|
| **Subdomain** | the first part of the live app's address. It starts as the app's name |
| **Access** | **Anyone with a login** (the default): anyone reaches the sign in page, and the app's own sign in is the gate. **Listed IPs only**: only the internet addresses in the list reach the app at all |
| **Allowed IPs** | the list for **Listed IPs only**. Our own support address is always allowed as well |

The live app takes these settings at its next deploy, or at once with **Apply**. Before the first deploy, the address reads "will be at" followed by the address, without a link. After it, it reads "live at" with the link.

> **Tip.** **Listed IPs only** suits an app used from one office or a few known places. Remember to add a new address before you work from somewhere else.

## Where settings live

The app's look lives in the app's code, so it travels with each version. The address and the access live with us, on the server side, so a change to them needs no new version.
