# What is GoLocomotive

> A custom app for your business, built by AI agents, changed when you ask, approved by you on a running preview, and run by us.

GoLocomotive builds one app for your business: your data, your screens, your rules. You describe what you need in plain words. AI agents write the app and change it each time you ask. You see every change in a running preview of the app before your users do, and you decide what ships. We run the app on our servers, behind several layers of protection.

These docs are the reference for that whole loop. They start with what you do as a business owner, and end with what a developer or an AI agent needs to read and change the app's code.

## Three ideas

1. **One app per business.** Your app is not a tenant in a shared system. It has its own code, its own process and its own database file. Nothing in it is shared with another customer.
2. **You judge by looking.** Every change comes to you as a card with a picture of the app before and after. You approve it, ask for a fix, or reject it. Nothing waits for a long specification.
3. **Your own AI can work in your app.** Each app can act as an MCP server. You connect the AI you already use (Claude, or another assistant that speaks MCP), and it reads and writes your data as you, under the same rules as the screens.

## How an app is built

An app is small on purpose. It holds a schema (the data and its rules), its screens and a few server hooks. Everything generic comes from one shared toolkit, `locosdk`: the database, sign in, the data screens, mail, backups, the review cards and the MCP server. A small app is easier for an agent to change safely, and easier for you to check by looking at it.

The storage, the filter language and the web API follow PocketBase, an open source backend that many developers and most AI models already know. A PocketBase app can move to GoLocomotive with its database as it is. See [Coming from PocketBase](https://golocomotive.fr/docs/developers/pocketbase.md).

## For AI agents

Every page of these docs also exists as plain markdown: replace the last `/` of its address with `.md`, or follow the link at the bottom of each page. [llms.txt](/llms.txt) lists every page with one line each, and [llms-full.txt](/llms-full.txt) holds all of them in one file.
